RESOLVED, that the Diocese of Maryland, meeting in Convention May 6-7, 2005, recognizing the importance of receiving information from the General Convention in a timely manner, requests its General Convention Deputies and Triennial and UTO Delegates to quickly disseminate pertinent information that best stands to augment parish and institutional ministries, and encourages congregations to provide opportunities for Deputies and Delegates to disseminate this information.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the this information be made available through the diocesan web page, the Maryland Church News and a user-friendly booklet no later than the First Sunday of Advent.
Stewardship. The Episcopal Church expends an enormous amount of money to facilitate the triennial gathering of elected lay and clergy deputies who work in conjunction with its bishops to bring forward from the minds of its people, resolutions that call us to broaden, enhance, develop and/or support initiatives that will positively influence our work as the Body of Christ. The fruits of this labor are usually left hanging to rot from a tree. The deputation can harvest this work and bring it to the diocese in due season for our collective benefit.
