Amendment to Canon 2-100, Section 2 of the Diocese of Maryland

Resolution 2006-4

RESOLVED, That the first sentence of Section 2 of Canon 2-100 be repealed and replaced by the following sentences:

Sec. 2. There shall be an incorporated Cathedral Chapter (whose full corporate name is “The Cathedral Chapter of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Maryland”) consisting of a maximum of eighteen (18) Chapter members, twelve (12) of whom shall be elected by the Congregation for four-year terms, one (1) of whom, the Youth Member, shall be elected by the Congregation for a one-year term, and up to five (5) members shall be nominated by the Bishop and elected by the Convention for five-year terms. For the purposes of this Section, “Youth Member” shall mean a person at least sixteen (16) years of age but not more than twenty-two (22) years of age at the time of election. A Youth Member is eligible to be elected to one (1) additional term.
