TITLE: The Impact of Slavery on the Diocese of Maryland
RESOLVED, that the 222nd Convention of the Diocese of Maryland, meeting May 5-6, 2006, commits itself to research how it may have profited from slavery and subsequent systemic and institutional racism; and
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED, that the current Task Force be empowered to oversee such research and report back at the next convention; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Diocesan Council be directed, by October 2006, to find funding from non-diocesan sources for this project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Task Force recommend appropriate action in response to the report to the 223rd Convention of the Diocese of Maryland.
