Memorial to the 76th General Convention of the Episcopal Church for the addition of the Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray to Lesser Feasts and Fasts
(for future editions to be authorized by the General Convention.)
RESOLVED, that the 223rd Convention of the Diocese of Maryland, meeting May 4-5, 2007, Memorialize the 76th General Convention of the Episcopal Church meeting in Anaheim, California in 2009 to add the Reverend Dr. Pauli Murray to Lesser Feasts and Fasts; and be it further
RESOLVED, that we urge General Convention to have July 1st as the date for her commemoration, marking the date of her death; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Diocese of Maryland work in collaboration with the Diocese of North Carolina, where she was raised, and the Diocese of Massachusetts, from which she was ordained as deacon and priest, to bring this Memorial to General Convention; and be it further
RESOLVED, that this Convention of the Diocese of Maryland declares that July 1st be a day of special commemoration for the life, witness and ministry of the Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray.
