Resolution 2010-1
Reduce the Use of Toxic Chemical on Lawns and Gardens
RESOLVED, that this 226th Convention of the Diocese of Maryland recommends that:
- every parish and diocesan organization refrain from the excessive use or
misapplication of synthetic and other herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers on lawns
and gardens to control pests and undesirable plants and that they encourage their
members to do likewise; and
- the Diocesan Committee on Environmental Initiatives provide to parishes and
their parishioners information concerning the proper use and application of
herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers and available resources regarding such use and
application, including organic alternatives to synthetic products.
