Staff Accountant
The Episcopal Diocese of Maryland is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to assist the Comptroller in processing and recording financial transactions of operations and programs of the Diocese of Maryland. Among the principal duties are to assist the Comptroller in financial period closings; prepare general ledger entries; reconcile select balance sheet accounts and answer interdepartmental budget questions. This position is also responsible for processing payroll and answering parish questions pertaining to payroll and payroll tax filings.
Experience in non-profit accounting is preferred. Additionally, experience with compensation compliance including the special handling of matters related clergy is desired. A Bachelor of Science in accounting is desired, however, proven experience will serve in the place of an official degree. Knowledge of accounting, accounting software, Microsoft products, especially Excel, and the basic working of a computer network is required. Attention to detail is a must.

Parish Administrator
